dr Agnieszka Brandt-Talbot
dr Agnieszka Brandt-Talbot is a Leader of Sustainable Carbon Solutions research team in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London. On top of that she is a co-founder and the Director of the start-up company Lixea (https://www.lixea.co/) Lixea is developing an innovative biomass fractionation process using low-cost ionic liquids.
In terms of numbers, she has authored 39 scientific articles with more than 3000 citations and holds 3 licensed patents (h=22).
Dr Brandt-Talbot’s scientific research interests focuses on creating bio-derived materials and chemicals from sustainable biomass and the application of novel tailor-made solvents for more sustainable use of carbon in our economy.
We are delighted to have such distinguished researcher as our Keynote Speaker, especially considering her success in the application of ionic liquids in the industry and creating well-established start-up company, with funding from European Union (Horizon 2020) for over 3 million euros! You can find out more about the project here https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/946203.
During her Keynote lecture she will be talking about ionic liquids and their applicability in the modern industries and challenges of starting your own company while still being a successful Researcher.
dr Nicholas Gathergood
dr Nicholas Gathergood is from the University of Lincoln where he holds the Associate Professor in Chemistry position. After getting his Phd, he enjoyed post-Doc life, having been employed at several different Universities, including Aarhus University (Denmark), Deakin University, Geelong and the Victorian College of Pharmacy, Melbourne (Australia). More recently, he was ERA Chair of Green Chemistry at Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia).
In terms of numbers, he has authored 94 scientific articles with almost 5000 citations (h=34)
Dr Gathergood’s scientific research interests include green synthesis of antimicrobials and analgesics, green toxicology and biodegradation.
We are thrilled, to have such renowned Green Chemistry specialist as our Keynote Speaker for the Biosciences scope!
dr Marco Haumann
Dr Marco Haumann is head of Hybrid Materials (HyMat) for Catalysis and Purification research group at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is also an Editorial Board member for Journal of Ionic Liquids (Elsevier).
In terms of numbers, he has authored 109 scientific articles with more than 3500 citations (h=32).
Dr Haumann’s research interests are focused on the development of hybrid material for catalysis and separation, including e.g. supported ionic liquid phase (SILP) and supported catalytically active liquid metal solutions (SCALMS).
The topic of his Keynote lecture will be focused on thin films of supported ionic liquids and how they can be enhancing industrial catalytic processes.
